Louie ‘New Year’s Eve’ Review
This my second review of a Louie episode (http://thedangerzones.tumblr.com/post/11578961029/louie-duckling-episode) and I mean I don’t do that for anyone. I am still yet to write the review for the Maury episode ‘DNA will prove you got my granddaughter pregnant. It was the episode where the crowd goes crazy and the guy jumps from the stairs into a roly poly. I even drafted all 508 words not including the link or heading, first in my mind, then on paper and finally on Microsoft office 2003. All this just so I could feel that I was ready to put it on Tumblr. As always this review is best read fast and you have to do it in my voice, a low bass, with raspy undertones and a hint of lavender. Why do I always make these reviews about me.
The review starts here. I thought blood stemming from people’s noses was under used in the industry leave Louie to prove me wrong. The scene Parker Posey character Liz returns reminded me of a joke I made in university. It is the main reason why I decided to start the review there. The temptation for Louie to stop is always there but that would be too easy, easy I say. Louie always faces up to reality or maybe in just the episodes that I have seen. So when dealing with situation in regards to Liz he is forced to once again to ask the big questions. Whether that leads him to do things to his benefit or determent is always fun to watch. I guess that’s how God feels; he views us as a joke, I know I do.
Frustration is something Louie is no stranger to, and this episode throws heaps at him from the beginning. In trying to do the right thing for his daughter he makes things worse WHAT, then eventually better. The frustrating fact is that he knows he’ll ordinarily give up but for someone he loves he will push himself places his not willing to go for himself. Places his not willing to go for himself until something reminds him to face up to his reality. See the link from earlier.
It wouldn’t be fair if Louie didn’t have some sort of reprieve, I mean it would but who’s counting. It’s probably why Louie finds himself in a foreign country, a journey that was 20 minutes in the making. The full circle nature of the episode provides a bittersweet ending. New people who don’t know you affords you the chance to gain a different perspective. Louie still manages to get by in this new environment almost too conveniently, almost.
I get the feeling that the main character, got tired of writing his name is always on the cusp of what he is searching for. Louie, I am not bored anymore is never afraid or maybe he is always afraid and that’s why he puts so much heart into what he is doing. And in case, it wasn’t clear in the review I enjoyed the episode very much.
